Unfortunately, we can’t all afford to have a shoe collection as vast as the one in Celine Dion’s closet. Although, that would be incredible!

Realistically speaking, we’re more than capable of recreating all the styles we want with much less selection than our darling international superstar. Here are four essential models of shoes to have in your closet:

1- First of all, you should own a boot that I call “city style”. Try to get the lowest heel possible; we’re aiming for comfort here! This pair of boots should be your all-access pass. It should be able to match the jeans you wear for running errands just as much as a nice skirt and tights. It’s possible to be comfortable in a boot and still look elegant. Here’s the proof!

2-Secondly, who wants to keep their wet boots on all day? Once you get to the office, feel free to take those heavy boots off in favor of ballerinas or mocassins. Classy but comfy!

3-Whether you’re a big fan of the outdoors or not, everyone should have a good pair of warm boots in their collection. Even if I’m the first to admit that snow can create breathtaking scenery, sometimes Quebec winters can be intense. There’s nothing worse than getting to work with soaked feet and catching a cold that lasts the rest of the week.

4- Finally, what’s great about a “Québécoise” woman is that she can rock a checkered shirt and fur boots, just as well as a little black dress and a pair of stilettos. People always say that every woman should own a little black dress, but what about shoes? Ladies, it’s time to add a nice pair of black high-heels to your collection!

Do you agree with my selection? Do you have any shoes that you can’t live without?
