Did you know that Yellow is a made-in-Québec family business?
Moreover, it is the oldest shoe company in the province! In fact, the Montreal-based company will soon celebrate its 100th year of business!
Samuel and Sarah Avrith started selling their shoe models by exposing in the windows of their De Bullion street apartment.
Then, the first shop was opened on Mont-Royal Street and, gradually, the company has expanded to the entire province.
Why did they choose to call it Yellow? Because the labels on the shoes purchased from various suppliers were yellow.
Yellow is proud to be a big part of the Quebec shoe industry and wants to expose more success stories from Québec.
This is why the Friday blog post will now offer a cultural showcase of what is original in Quebec! You will discover designers, musicians, artists and artisans whose work should be better known.
